Cyclists protest for more bike lanes in congested Bangkok

Hundreds of Thai cyclists took to the gridlocked streets of Bangkok Sunday in a ride to the new governor's office where they petitioned for more bicycle lanes.
About 200 riders of the 'Bikes for Life' group rolled peacefully through the city in part to show Bangkokians that pedal power can be a viable alternative to the jams. The would-be cycle commuters wound up their road trip at the steps of the Democrat party headquarters and met Apirak Kosayodhin, whose tenure as Bangkok governor was to begin Monday.
